I can remember time and time...Great topic: masks. I can remember time and time again how I knew I was wearing a mask but I just didn’t have the courage to take it off to reveal my real self…..for all the reasons you listed….except for the big sunglasses – I never really liked those. As I looked around me, I saw some people wearing masks and others weren’t. Of course, the attraction is being authentic when I finally recognized it. But it didn’t dawn on me that I would be happier if I were just me until I was able to step back from life and look around me. This takes time, every day to stop and smell the roses….. like your meditations. It seems the people that continue to be busy are just too busy to step back from life and look at the real life going on. There are no words to penetrate their ears to help them see, hear or understand God’s world. They are wearing masks but do not even realize it so there is no way that they can take their masks off.
I do love your meditations on God’s love. It is like no other. I can see how ‘realizing’ that I am loved is the beginning of me loving others. My mask continues to come on and off, depending on my fears, desires and need to be loved. Just as much as I hope that my friends love me enough to put up with them, I ask God for a greater grace to overcome them, to be the first to love.
Thanks for another great meditation!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
