As much as I preach this to my kids, I do not do it when it is my turn. Even though this is a completely new experience for me, the cross is not new. I am grateful for this new experience because this is what I think is what makes life life. If I continuously experience the same trials in life, relying on Him, soon I will get good at carrying ‘that’ cross. It’s obvious. I know in the depths of my being, that God is continuously pushing us all to be more. It’s almost like I’m telling Him I don’t want the surprise! I don’t want the resurrection! ‘Allow yourself’ – isn’t that the truth!! It’s not that I don’t trust others, it’s that I don’t trust myself.
As in redemptive suffering, when I carry my fears, doubts, crosses…. I have to believe that it is benefitting someone in the world that I may not even know! What a God we have, who unites us so closely to one another even if we don’t know their name!
OK Father. I hope that I will be surprised tomorrow … no wait…. I’m supposed to say that I look forward to carrying my cross…. In a way I really am. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439331035718369167.post-49017069161386435092013-04-07T06:38:40.397-05:002013-04-07T06:38:40.397-05:00Thank you Fr.
