Luke 12: 1-7 Love For The Light
Lead, Kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom - Lead Thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home – Lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see - The distant scene – one step enough for me.
I was not ever thus, nor pray’d that Thou Shouldst lead me on.
I loved to choose and see my path, but now - Lead Thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears, Pride ruled my will: remember not past years.
So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still - Will lead me on,
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till - The night is gone;
And with the morn those angel faces smile - Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile.
(- Blessed John Henry Newman)
“Even the hairs on your head have all been counted.” Are there not enough people in the world today? Are not five or six billion people sufficient? Am I really needed? Yes, I am needed. I am not forgotten. I am truly loved. The Lord still needs me and for this reason alone I breathe, I move, I live: so that I may love.
Men can truly hurt me. They can deny me freedom of movement, companionship, even material goods. But they will never deny me the sky that is above me. Oh how the stars shine bright even as the clouds fill my sight! The universe is nearly as vast as my heart and soul. Finally I understand that all things come to an end, only heaven remains.
Whom shall I fear? I shall have no fear except for the one who can take me away from my love and my Lord. May your kindness, Lord, be upon us; we who put our hope in you. Of course the kindness of the Lord is forever upon us for He is at peace with himself. Am I at peace with myself? Oh how I long to be at peace! Give me your peace Lord, a peace that only you can give. May I never forget:
Christ came into the world so that I could see the light. I am no longer blind. I can see. I know why I live.
Christ came into the world so that I could follow the light. I am no longer lost. I have been found. I know what I must do.
Christ came into the world so that I could be with the light. I am no longer alone. I am in love. I know who I am.
The mystery of who I am has been revealed: I am another Christ. I am worth more than many sparrows. I am worth more than the Universe! I am greater than our sun, our moon, our galaxy! All has been created for me. They all work for me.
I will not be afraid to love, to forgive and to give like Christ. I believe in God and I believe in man. I find life beautiful and I can say so without embarrassment.
The darkest moments sometimes shed the greatest amount of light on who I am and on who God is.
Beautiful! I am so happy for you! :)

ReplyDeleteAll the answers the world is seeking... how do we make them understand that they, too, can be in love?! That they, too, can know why we are here and what we are living for? Loving doesn't seem like enough, Father. It doesn't seem like enough to live our own lives of love and forgiveness when the world is so full of sorrow and sadness... because they don't have the answer. It's so plain! It's so simple! Why don't they understand?
